John Sherman, better known by his Spartan designation John/S-117 or his nickname Chief Sherman, is a Stoinian war hero and veteran from the Stoinian-Velutarian War. As a SPARTAN-II, he was augmented to become the greatest soldier of the Stoinian Star Kingdom and became the most decorated individual while fighting in the 16 T-year long war. As stories of his prowess spread, he was used as a propaganda tool by the Office of Public Affairs to great effect bringing hope to the Stoinian people. Thus the legend of Chief Sherman was born and still lives on in the memories of many Stoinians, though his current whereabouts remain classified.
