Andrendia, officially the Axolotl Empire of Andrendia, is a unitary state in North-East Bailtem bordered in the West by Earamia, Arnchow and the CBR.
The country is a Democratic Constitutional Empire and is currently ruled by Emperor Andrea Oloto VII, with Rosario Londi as the Prime Minister.
The official language is Tolsian, with Austral as a national one. The official religion is Azaelism.
History
Prehistory
Civilization in Andrendia started around 15.000 BC in the area around the Magazo Jungle. For thousands of years humans lived in nomadic groups until around 10.000 BC they started building villages. Around this time the oldest religion in Andrendia was created: The Cult of Axolotls, an endemic species of Andrendia. The followers of the Cult were called Axolians. Axolians and the other groups of humans were often enemies, but some became great allies.
Vulcanbonian-Axolian War
Time passed and many small kingdoms were formed, but this part of the Andreian history is really obscure since almost every information was destroyed around 678, when a war broke out between the biggest kingdoms of ancient Andrendia, The Vulcanbonian Kingdom and The Axoland Kingdom. The Vulcanbonian kingdom worshiped the Gods of Mount Vulcanbon, an important volcano in Northern Andrendia. The Axoland kingdom was a kingdom of Axolians. This war was the biggest Andrendia would ever see in all of history. Almost all of the Countries involved and the Axoland and Vulcanbonian Kingdoms collapsed. The only other effect of the war other than the collapse of what civilization in Andrendia was until that point was that the Vulcanbonian cult disappeared and the Cult Of Axolotls became the biggest religion in Andrendia.
Axolian Empire
In 1496, after centuries of division, the pre-Andreian Kingdoms united into the Axolian Empire, an empire of peace and prosperity, where The Cult of Axolotls was a vital part of society.
The Tale of Franco Oloto[1]
Then in 1577, the great explorer Franco Oloto started a journey in the northern part of the Axolian Empire. He saw an island off the coast from his ship and decided to explore it. He didn’t know, but that was the biggest decision of his life. On the island, that later he will call Azalea Island, he found a jungle full of strange Azalea trees, a strange find since Azaleas grow in bushes. Then in the middle of the island he found a ruined temple and there Azaleo appeared. Azaleo is the Flowering Azalea God, that in ancient times was worshiped by a mysterious civlization. Franco tried to touch the God, but his hand passed through him, he was just an apparition. Azaleo smiled and asked him to spread his cult back to Andrendia. He became the Messiah of Azaelism and reached the capital of the Axolian Empire, Axolia, and started talking about his find. A few started following him but many started attacking him and thinking he was crazy. Then the unthinkable happened. The Miracle of Axolia, where Azaleo appeared and took control over Franco Oloto to spread his word. This completely changed the Empire.
Some days later the Emperor was removed by the people and Franco became the first Emperor of the Axolotl Empire of Andrendia, called like this in name of his son, Andrea Oloto I.
The Cult of Axolotls remained part of Andrendia, but now Azaelism was the main religion in the empire.
The Kingson Island Accident
In 1632, an exploration ship of the Franco Oloto Exploration Company, the exploration company founded by the first emperor, was exploring the seas in the north of Andrendia. Before arriving near the island now known as Kingson Island, a storm destroyed the ship. The survivors of the storm died soon on Kingson Island to the fauna.
Andreian civil war
In 1802 Andrendia saw the start of a civil war. After many tensions between the Axolian population and the Azaelists, the Emperor Franco Oloto III was killed by an Axolian extremist.
The war was fought by three different factions:
- The Azaelist Faction that wanted to exterminate every Axolian in Andrendia.
- The Axolian Faction that wanted to remove the emperor, establish a new Axolian Empire and kill every Azaelist.
- The Empire Supporters, who wanted to establish peace in the Empire and stop the two genocides of the other factions.
There were many battles across all of Andrendia, the biggest one was the Battle Of Picentia. The city before that was called Collinetia and it was one of the places with the most Axolians. It was controlled by the Axolian Faction and there, thanks to the strategic position just near Picentania, an area inhabited mostly by Azaelists and controlled by the Azaelist Faction, they used the city as a place where to torture and kill them.
The Empire Supporters did a surprise attack at the city on the 9th of April 1804, freeing Azaelists and stopping the Axolians. That was a great victory for the Empire, a giant loss for the Axolians and a humiliating moment for the Azaelists, as their enemies had just saved their people and recruited them into their army. After the War the city will be renamed to Picentia, in the name of the Picentanian Azaelists that lost their lives.
On the 1st of January 1805, on the coast of Cilentranea, in a safe city, the Azaelists and the Empire signed a peace treaty that stated that the Azaelists would surrender and join the Empire to stop the Axolians from their genocide.
Then on the 15th of July 1807 the Great Battle of Andreopolis was fought. The Axolian Faction attacked Andreopolis, capital of the Empire, on the first lights of the day, surprising the population. They destroyed the Emperor's Palace and many Azaelist Churches. Some hours later the Empire's counterattack destroyed many of the Axolian Faction's armies and then the new emperor, Andrea Oloto the IV killed the leader of the Axolian Faction.
Finally on the 20th of July 1807, the Emperor signed a peace treaty with the generals of the Axolian Faction declaring the reunification of Andrendia and the end of the war.
Andrendia from 1800 and onwards
On December 3rd 1839, the first railway in Andrendia, the Andreopolis-Faiano, railway was opened.
In 1860 the Great Reclamation Project started, removing the entirety of the Swamps in the Great Andreian Plains.
On August 23rd 1925 the Block River Dam was completed, the area that became the Block Dam Lake completely filled with water in 1949.
Through the entirety of the Great War, Andrendia remained neutral. The decision made to maintain diplomatic relations with both sides of the war.
On 15 February 1973 emperor Franco Oloto IV, known as the Great Reformer, founded the Andreian Space Program and some day later, after a National Referendum, joined the CPSC.
Geography
First Level Sub-divisions
Andrendia has 11 first level sub-divisions: 2 Autonomous Regions, 3 Island Regions and 5 Normal Regions. The eleventh region is a special region composed of the enormous metropolitan area of the Capital.
Normal Regions
Andro
In this mostly mountainous region are located the peaks of the Andreian mountains, from which the various rivers of the nation generate. Picentia, the biggest inhabited center, is called like that in name of the Picentanian Azaelists deported there during the Andreian Civil War.
Picentania
In this flat region flows the Picentino river, so called by the Picentini population who also gives the region its name. Among the major inhabited centers we have Sala, a city based on the production of cheeses, and Pontinia, the city where the symbol of the region is located, an ancient bridge built over a large canyon in the mountains.
Brickia
This very water-rich region is one of the most populated thanks to the presence of the inhabited centers of Trenia, home of the Andreian Railways, and Faiano, a large city where potatoes, a typical Andreian food, are produced. The region is crossed by the two major rivers of the nation: the Brick, which flows to the capital and then into the sea, and the Block, which stops at the Block Dam Lake, a lake generated by the gigantic dam that supplies the region with energy, to then flow into the Brick via canals.
Magazena
In this region flows the Magazo, a river that flows into the Gulf of Axolotls, the largest gulf in the nation. In the center of the region is also located the Magazo Jungle, the biggest in the Nation. The region is both the main manufactoring and agricoltural center of Andrendia, thanks to the presence of the cities of Fabraica and Pastoria.
Cilentranea
In this coastal region, tourism is very present. The main inhabited center is Cilentina, a tourist city full of hotels and shops. In the north of the region, in the middle of the sea lies a gigantic offshore wind farm which supplies energy to the region.
Island Regions
Perla
In this small island based on fishing and tourism there is an almost tropical flora. The only inhabited center is Perletria, where there is a large center for the collection of pearls and the national aquarium.
Diamante
On this island located off the autonomous region of Northern Andrendia there is a large diamond mine that provides great wealth to the region. There are no very large inhabited centers but in the village of Diamantia there is a museum about the Diamond mines with an exhibition of minerals.
Platino
On this island off the coast of the autonomous region of Southern Andrendia there are many meteoric craters rich in platinum, the main resource of the island. In this region there are no large inhabited centers, but in the village of Platiniano there is a museum about asteroids and a large astronomical observatory.
Autonomous Regions
Northern Andrendia
In this autonomous region is located the great Mount Vulcanbon, an active volcano that generates large columns of lava during its eruptions. In the western part of the volcano there are large spruce forests and the Forco river flows here. The eastern part, on the other hand, is very similar to Cilentranea. The two main towns are Andria in the west and Costella in the east. In the east of the region there is a small island, Azalea Island, where the Azalea Temple is located. This is why the island is a destination for many religious pilgrimages.
Southern Andrendia
In this autonomous region the coast is very high and rocky, which forms wonderful cliffs. The two major inhabited centers are Sudria and Sporgeria, where huge cliffs are located. South of Sporgeria the climate becomes very hot and what was previously a plain interrupted by small woods, becomes a large prairie full of shrubs and cacti. The prairie is divided from the rest of the region by a large system of Mesas. This Mesas are known for their great reserves of Oil and Natural Gas that are extracted in the many extraction sites of the region.
Capitalia
Capitalia is the metropolitan area of the capital of Andrendia, Andreopolis.
Andreopolis is a metropolis located on the mouth of Brick river and is inhabited, including the rest of Capitalia, by over 18 milion people.
The city is known for its skyscrapers, parks, bridges and monuments.
The capital is also an important economic and tourism center.
The Imperial Mansion and the Parliament are also located in the city.

Each region of Andrendia, except Capitalia, Diamante, Perla and Platino, has second level sub-dvisions.
There are a total of 20 provinces, 24 if we count the four regions without provinces has one of them.

Physical Geography
Andrendia has a variety of environments, from enourmous mountains to calm plains, from great jungles to arid mesas.
The major mountain range are the Andreian Alps, full of volcanic activity, the mountain range has some of the highest mountains in Bailtem, like Mt. Brick and Mt. Block. Located on the west of the nation, this mountains always signed the borders of the Empire.
In the northernmost part of the mountain chain is present the enormous Mt. Vulcanbon, the volcano is not as high as the other peaks of the mountain chain, but is twice as volcanically active.
Going south, we find the Orange Mesa, an arid and resource rich area full of eroded peaks and flat hills.
The rivers that form from the glaciers of the mountain chain form the Great Andreian Plains, the most inhabited area in the nation. In the past this area was full of swamps and lakes, but many reclamation projects made the area habitable. But humans didn't only remove water, but also move it. The Block River Dam is the biggest of the country and produces energy for all of the surrounding areas, including the capital of Andreopolis. The dam generated the Block Dam Lake, the biggest in Andrendia.
The southern part of the plain is occupied by the Magazo Jungle, the biggest Jungle in Andrendia and a protected area.
Going East we reach the Tirriatico Sea, that goes from the coasts of Andrendia to the great trenches that surround Bailtem and the other continents of the South Pacific.
Economy
The Andreian Economy is partially based around a Socialist model.
The Nation's economy is led by Tourism, Ore Extraction, Agriculture, Electronics and Oil and Gas Extraction.
The historic and natural beauties of Andrendia make tourism the biggest economic resource of the Nation.
The Platinum and other Rare Metals extraction on Platino Island and the Diamond Extraction on Diamante Island make Ore Extraction a dangerous, but very useful, resource for the economy.
The Oil and Gas extraction sites in the Southern Mesas are one of the most important economic and energetic resources of Andrendia.
Culture and Population
Religion
The national religion is Azaelism.
Azaelists go to Church every Saturday to listen to the "Book of Azaleas", a book written by Franco Oloto during his stay on Azalea Island, which narrates the mythical history of Andrendia and the world, from the birth of Azaleo to the arrival of Franco to the Temple of Azaleas.
For Azaelists azaleas are sacred and everyone has at least one bush of the flower to symbolize their faith in Azaleo.
Every community of Azaelists has a "Gardener"[2] that narrates the Book of Azaleas and performs religious rites.
Then controlling all of the communities there is the Emperor of Andrendia, also known as the Florist, that at the moment is Andrea Oloto VII.
Other religions are present in the country, the major one of those being The Cult of Axolotls, Christianity and Muslimism.
Food
Typical Andreian dishes are the Andreian Mashed Potatoes, made with an ancient recipe from Faiano, and the Picentianean Cheese, a cheese produced with the milk of the cows of Picentania following a production method with unknown origins.
National Symbols
The Axolotl, an endemic specie of Andrendia, is the National Animal and symbol of the Nation and to this day it is still worshiped by the little communities of Axolians that live across Andrendia.
Another symbol is the Azalea, National Flower and symbol of Azaelism.

Trivia
- There are proposals to change the names of Northern and Southern Andrendia to Vulcanbonia and Aridana, but the government still hasn't decide what to do with them.
- The current Axolotl population of Andrendia is over 1.500.000, with the most living in the lakes of the Magazo Jungle.
- The Currency, the Andreian Brick, is named after the minister of economy and explorer Joan Alfredo Brick, which in 1789 unified all of the currencies of Andrendia under one, the Andreon. The Currency will be named after him along the region of Brickia, the Brick River and Mt Brick, where he tragically died during an exploration of the peak in 1801.

- ↑ Some parts of this section may not have really happened, most of the real story of what happened on Azalea Island is currently a mistery, the only information we have comes from the Book of Azaleas.
