Austral is the largest language by number of speakers and is the leading language of international discourse and the lingua franca in the South Pacific. It has been spreading around the world since the early middle ages by the worldwide influence of the Austral Empire and its many successors.

Austral is the same language as real-life English. It is the official language in many South Pacifican states. Currently no one can claim to be the home of the language.
