Eleven countries participated in the contest, with Arnchow, Esfalsa, Frost Empire and the host country Ikoania participating for the first time. Eareamland, Mauquibie and New Itomorii have announced their non-participation due to several reasons.
According to the rules, the host broadcaster of the winning song would receive the rights to host the next edition of the contest. But for the first contest only, the PEB will allow the bidding to other countries.


Preparations for the 2022 contest began around September, when the PEB declared its intention to rotate the host country and open bids for cities and broadcasters to host the contest.

The 2022 contest will take place in Gralois, Ikoania, following the country's bid. It is the first time that Ikoania hosts the contest, as well as the first Pacivision to be held in [[Bailtem (Pacifica)|Bailtem]]. The selected venue is the 9,500-seat Century Arena, which serves as a venue for events and has annually hosted the Live IATB TV Awards.

== Provisional list of participating countries ==
The Pacivision Village is the official Pacivision Song Contest fan and sponsors area during the event weeks, where it will be possible to watch performances by contest participants and local artists, as well as the live shows broadcast from the main venue. It is set to be located in Gralois's 3rd district.
Participating countries had until 1 January 2022 to submit their applications for participation in the contest, and have until 31 January 2022 to withdraw their applications without facing financial sanctions.

== Production ==
The Pacivision Song Contest 2022 was produced by the Ikoanian public broadcaster Ikoanian Avarez Television Broadcasting (IATB). The Ikoanian government allocated around 4 million TSP-$ as part of the budget needed to host the event, while the state of Gralois contributed around 5 million TSP-$ in total. The preliminary total budget for the show was 7.4 million TSP-$.

Estella Casvellez, Marco Zarez and Polla Altez are the host of the 2022 contest with Polla Altez also being the host for the green room.
 
Casvellez is known for her role as a presenter in the Ikoanian version of the hit TV gameshow, Countdown. Casvellez is known to be able to speak Alman fluently thus filling the role of the Alman speaking presenter. Zarez is known for his pop song "Ulterior Motives" which hit the top of the Ikoanian Music Tops charts for 2017 and winner of the 2018 IATB Music Award. And Altez is known for her role in many roles in Ikoanian movies and have won the Avarez for two times in a row, the only person to ever do so.

The draw determining the running-order, in which the participating countries may present their songs to the audience was held on 13 February 2022 in the city hall of [[Gralois (Pacifica)|Gralois]]. The countries and their starting positions were drawn by two of the hosts of the event, Estella Casvelez and Marco Zarez, from two separate bowls. The "postcards" are short introduction videos shown on television whilst the stage is being prepared for the next contestant to perform their entry, and are 40 seconds long. Frost Empire's artist Kevin "Kay" Shinano was supposed to participate in the contest in a duet with Mei Natsukawa in the original taping of the song "Nada sousou", Shinano fell ill shortly before the start of Pacivision and staff were unable to fix the credits of the song due to the timing of his illness.
 
===Graphic mistakes===
During the presenters listing the show's running order, the graphics switched Sedunn and GI-Land which draws 06 and 07 respectively. The mistake was corrected by the commentators and the recap later that evening showed the correct running order.

The Ikoanian government allocated around 4 million TSP-$ as part of the budget needed to host the event, while the state of Gralois contributed around 5 million TSP-$ in total. The preliminary total budget for the show was 7.4 million TSP-$.

Visual and Stage design

Inspired by solar panels and modeled after the theme "Reach for the STARS", it was designed by artist and graphic designer Alcro Nehar working with stage designer Nevear Poletez. The Stage design is inspired by minimalistic shapes that can be seen when looking at the visual presentation.

Presenters

Estella Casvellez, Marco Zarez and Polla Altez, presenters of the 2022 contest

Estella Casvellez, Marco Zarez and Polla Altez are the host of the 2022 contest with Polla Altez also being the host for the green room.

Casvellez is known for her role as a presenter in the Ikoanian version of the hit TV gameshow, Countdown. Casvellez is known to be able to speak Alman fluently thus filling the role of the Alman speaking presenter. Zarez is known for his pop song "Ulterior Motives" which hit the top of the Ikoanian Music Tops charts for 2017 and winner of the 2018 IATB Music Award. And Altez is known for her role in many roles in Ikoanian movies and have won the Avarez for two times in a row, the only person to ever do so.

Format

Allocation draw

The draw determining the running-order, in which the participating countries may present their songs to the audience was held on 13 February 2022 in the city hall of Gralois. The countries and their starting positions were drawn by two of the hosts of the event, Estella Casvelez and Marco Zarez, from two separate bowls. The process was supervised by the executive supervisor of the Pacivision Song Contest Ytti, the head of broadcaster IATB, Opan Avarez, and the mayor of Gralois, Arneslo Valpelez.[3]

Postcards

The "postcards" are short introduction videos shown on television whilst the stage is being prepared for the next contestant to perform their entry, and are 40 seconds long. Due to unavailability the Elfalsan delegation had to shoot their postcard outside of Ikoania. The following locations were used for each participating country:

  2.  Frost Empire - Presidential Museum, Gralois
  3.  Beepee - Asaz Street , Gralois
  4.  Izaakia - Strait of Seall
  5.  Besern - IAC (Intelligence Arts College), Gralois
  6.  GI-Land - Formes Point (Southernmost point of Bailtem Proper)
  7.  Sedunn - Tierp Beach, Labesse Island
  8.  Esfalsa - Enfi Tower, Ricubai, Esfalsa
  9.  Snolland - Fis Beach, Gralois
  10.  Ikoania - The Shorez (Garden of Peace), Miened
  11.  Arnchow - Benloc Street, Cartos

Participating countries

The PEB initially announced on 1 February 2022 that 11 countries would participate in the 2022 contest, with Arnchow, Esfalsa, Frost Empire and the host country Ikoania participating for the first time. Eareamland, Mauquibie and New Itomorii being non-returning countries from the previous contest.

Incidents

Frost Empire artist withdrawal

Frost Empire's artist Kevin "Kay" Shinano was supposed to participate in the contest in a duet with Mei Natsukawa in the original taping of the song "Nada sousou", Shinano fell ill shortly before the start of Pacivision and staff were unable to fix the credits of the song due to the timing of his illness.

Graphic mistakes

During the presenters listing the show's running order, the graphics switched Sedunn and GI-Land which draws 06 and 07 respectively. The mistake was corrected by the commentators and the recap later that evening showed the correct running order.
